Lights camera action!
Lights, camera, action!
Hi everyone! We are excited to share our interview with all of you! Mrs. Harris and her team at Channel 8 created a wonderful video segment and written article concerning our fundraiser. We hope you enjoy this- without you helping us climb higher the team at Channel 8 would not have had a reason to interview us. And remember, if you are here in Texas, we hope to see you next Saturday, the 18th, at Dallas Rocks!

Studio M recognizes Payton's Climbing
Spread the word McKinney students!
What is Studio M and why did they want me to be a part of their show? Our counselor from school submitted my name to the Boyd High School's Television Show. This show is a way for high school students to learn the ins/out of television production and a way for the community to learn more about the students, teachers and programs within McKinney ISD, here in Texas. The producer contacted us and said, "We would love to have Payton on our Studio M talk show. We are taping it on May 20th at the TV studio inside Boyd high school." My interview allowed me to spread the word about the Art Cart and remind others that they can make a difference in the world just by supporting us and brightening the day of a child in the hospital.
Mary Bridge Youth Heros in 2009
Wow, what an honor!
Imagine our surprise when Barbara and Frank, friends from the philantrophy department at Mary Bridge, called and invited us to the Festival of Trees Luncheon. Mama and Daddy said that we would love to attend since we would be in town for Thanksgiving. Little did we know that Mama and Daddy were in on the surprise! After walking around the beautifully decorated room filled with Christmas trees, we sat down for a wonderful meal (Barbara made sure we had "child friendly" food). With our mouths full of cake, we hear Ben Weymiller start talking about us- what, we look up and there we are on the big screen. We couldn't believe that the hospital was honoring us! We honor Dr. Hall and the staff by having our fundraiser, why were they giving us an award? The award may have been in our names, but we share the honor with all of you. Without each of you helping us with your generous contributions, we would not be here!
Morning Announcements for Rachel's Challenge
Mrs. Lueke is a huge support to us!
Our school is so proud of what we are doing. Our counselor, Mrs. Lueke, recognized us on the morning announcements for leading the way with our fundraiser. We have a program at school called Rachel's Challenge and the Power of One. The Power of One is how this started- with Payton's idea to raise money for the hospital; however, that was the only time she was alone. Samantha immediately jumped on board and so did you! Thank you for your support!!
Mary Bridge Surprises Us!
Look out, we are getting our message out!
We decided to deliver our checks directly to Mary Bridge this year. Barbara, our friend from the hospital set up a meeting for us to deliver a "big" check to Dr. Hall and Mrs. Susie. To our surprise, Barbara not only had Dr. Hall and Mrs. Susie waiting for us, but also Komo 4 News and a professional photographer! We were so excited! Not only was this an honor for us, but it was great to spread the word about all of your generosity and share with local Tacoma/Seattle families what a wonderful place Mary Bridge is.
