One month and $15,000
Well, we may not have set a record with how much we raised this year, but we sure set a record with the amount of money we raised in only 1 month! Samantha challenged you all to make your donations in one month and you all responded to her request. This year we raised $15,100!!! Wow! Samantha had a great time supporting Payton on the soccer field, volleyball court, basketball court and in the lake! Thank you for all the prayers and support for Payton this year! She was back climbing at the end of August when she had the bar removed! It is amazing how quickly she healed. We are so proud that God brought you all into our lives- thank you for your dedication to us and to the children of Mary Bridge!!
Kick, Volley, what?
What, a soccer field? Maybe even a volleyball court! No matter where you find us, we are still here for Mary Bridge! This year, Samantha is on her own with her efforts to "climb" higher for Mary Bridge- alone on the field/court/gym. I am still on the bench after having surgery but I am ready to get back in action (August please hurry, my ribs will be healed and the bar will come out)! Now though- it's time to show Samantha that she isn't alone, not only does she have her soccer and volleyball teams- she has us!! Let the year begin!! Let's see how much we can raise between now and July 1! Visit https://allensformarybridge.kintera.org/ourheartsjoined to make your donation today!! And don't forget to watch our video below:
*** A special note- This year, Samantha and I learned first hand how important our fundraising is! As most of you know, I had another surgery this year to correct my pectus excavatum (feel free to contact us to learn more about the Ravitch Procedure and how it feels to have a metal bar in your chest). Dr. Hall has retired, so we took a chance and met with a new surgeon here in Texas. Dr. Mendeloff, Dr. Harris and their team at Medical City, Children's in Dallas were amazing. My surgery went well and my recovery and healing is going better than anyone ever expected. While I was in the hospital, Margarita, the child life specialist dropped by my room with beads, finger paints and a bag with crayons and paper. Samantha and I were able to sit together and create pictures and when I needed a distraction, I made several bracelets. Art does have the power to heal! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of helping others heal- we thank you for being a part of our healing!
